The Solomon R. Guggenheim
Museum
Built in 1959, Frank Lloyd Wright's architectural masterpiece
represents a singular achievement in modern architectural history. It houses,
arguably, some of the world's most important artworks from the past and
present. In recent renovations, architects patched the concrete frame and
replaced the original dome's single glazed skylight with refurbished single
glazed pane incorporating Solis film to screen off ultraviolet and infrared
radiation. Patrons of the world renowned museum can now enjoy the exhibits
in greater comfort. An improvement Wright would have approved himself. |
Westin Banyan Tree Hotel,
Thailand
The tallest and one of the most prestigious hotels in Bangkok,
The Westin Banyan Tree believes in providing the best comfort and service
to its customers. Plagued by the scorching heat in Thailand, Solis extended
the hotel's excellence in service by keeping guests and customers cool
at the famous restaurant/lounge, The Compass Rose, as well as the Presidential
suites. Solis provided heat control without altering the exterior facade
of the building or sacrificing the magnificent view from this 60 story
building. |

Esprit retail store front
Jim Flannery, Director of Facilities, reports his pleasure in the performance
and appearance of Solis for his Esprit outlet store. According to Jim, "The
store is more comfortable, and we're spending less on air conditioning."
Jim also states that, "Many display items remain in the windows for
a longer period of time." Solis protects the Esprit's expensive display
merchandise from fading, but does not distort its visual appearance which
could lead to lost sales. Because Solis has excellent heat control, customers
and employees are more comfortable, and utility costs are lower. |
Ford Dealership
Potential car buyers are most often attracted to large showrooms that attractively
display the latest and most exciting new car models. Unfortunately, on hot,
sunny days these showrooms can present a hostile environment for both customer
and sales personnel. Excessive heat can be a distracting inconvenience.
Solis advanced technology window film saved these problems for Bruce Swanson,
Controller for Swanson Ford. Bruce reports that, "The reduction in
heat has been almost unbelievable for a virtually clear piece of
film." As Bruce states, "A glass showroom can not be tinted or
have reflective film put on it", further adding, "Solis has made
our showroom comfortable on even the hottest days! The salesmen can work
at their desks in direct sunlight and be comfortable. Customers don't even
notice the film." |

Luxury Home
This custom built 5500-square foot home recently won the Best in America
Living Home of the Year Award. Featured in the January 1007 issue of
Professional Builder Magazine, the highly modernistic, radical-looking
design utilizes some 2,800 square feet of glass including a curved wall
of windows over 19 feet tall. Begun in late 1993 and finished in December
1995, the house was built for Mrs. Alex Sheppard. In search of substantial
solar heat control and ultraviolet radiation protection, Mrs. Sheppard investigated
numerous window film brands. She ultimately chose Solis. In her judgment,
only Solis offered an appropriate level of two-way visibility without darkening
or distorting the view for aesthetics and security reasons. |
Luxury Condominium
Dr. Norman Winston found the perfect cure for his heat and glare problems
in Solis. The virtually clear, colorless nature of Solis also met the stringent
building codes imposed by his condominium association protecting the aesthetic
exterior looks of the building. |

With 3,500 square feet of living space, and innumerable floor-to-ceiling windows
in their elegant seventh story condominium, the Winstons struggled to control
heat, diminish outside glare, and reduce fading to carpets and other furnishings.
To solve these problems, they installed a high quality window film from a leading
competitive window film manufacturer.
While this leading brand of window film solved the problem of heat, glare,
and fading, the "cure" as Dr. Winston would say, brought on other
"side effects". This film made the rooms too dark during the day,
and at night was so "reflective" that Dr. and Mrs. Winston could not
enjoy the outside vie. Within a matter of days the Winstons called the dealer
to completely remove all of the film. "There was no question about our
decision; the interior view was just awful!" The Winstons fortunately found
the "ultimate cure" with Solis., and happily "prescribe"
it to their friends. "It is an amazing product, well worth the investment,"
according to Dr. Winston.
